Portrait: Stanislaw Katzer


Stanislaw Katzer, born in Cracow in 1917. He got to know the sea in 1928 and has been faithful to is ever since. He started working in the sea on the board of a boy scouts; school schooner called "Zawisza Czarny" under general Mariusz Zaruski.
After the war he was sailing under commander Boleslaw Romanowski. He graduated arts and photography secondary school in Gdynia. He was very keen on graphic art, mainly woodcut, work in metal, oil painting and medal-making. Most of his work concerned the sea themes. He was involved in ship modeling work, naval artillery, navigational equipment. He published two books on ship modeling. He died in 1998.
